Dear Sirs,
My name is Pat Smith, I recently have discovered my family history and found that my grandfather was a 2nd LT ADJT General p lease excuse if I have address this incorrectly. My grandfather name is Harry E Hill and he was killed in Little Rock in Nov. 11, 1939 and he had a Cotton Broker business there. We were told that the American Legion was in charge of his funeral.

My mother was my grandparents only surviving child and she died at the age of 49 and would never talk about my grandfather. I would appreciate if there is anything that you could tell us about him. If I need to I can come to Little Rock. I live on out skirts of Memphis. Anything you can find is helpful

Thank you
Pat Smith

Greetings fellow Legionnaires,

I am finalizing a news release for release “today” about a ceremony honoring Doctor Raymond Coppenger, 99, of Arkadelphia, who will turn 100 years of age on September 20, 2009.

I would like to include the fact that he is the oldest living Arkansas Legionnaire; however, I have no proof of that without your help. Could each of you please check with your Post to determine who the oldest member is and contact me as soon as possible?

• Note – Post Headquarters does not keep a record of birthdays on Legion members; therefore,
ages are not kept in any type of database at the State level. I am also checking with national to
see if they have it in their database.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Out here…
